New 1.2 GHz Spectrometer Arrived

On April 29, 2013, the German Federal Science Council (Wissenschaftsrat) had approved an 33 Mio € application of the BNMRZ for a new dedicated building, including a 1.2 GHz NMR spectrometer, which is co-supported by the Helmholtz Zentrum München.

The building was finished in 2017, and the BNMRZ groups moved in in spring 2018.

Now, on Feb. 1, 2022, finally the new 1.2 GHz NMR spectrometer was delivered from its manufacturer Bruker.

Two semitrailers arrive on Feb. 1, 2022:
one loaded with spectrometer parts (24 boxes!), the other one with equipment for the installation

Ready for delivery!

The empty place in the big NMR hall, waiting for the 1.2 GHz magnet ...

... slowly filling up with boxes full of accessories

And finally THE box ... the one with the magnet ...

... is lifted off the ground

And there it is! - in TUM blue   :-)

Finally: standing tall, on its own legs!

The helium filling towers are mounted on top

The wooden Platform is complete ...

... offering an amazing view over the NMR hall!
